Asif plays duet with Lopa for first time

Popular singer Asif Akbar has played a duet with promising singer Lopa Hossain for the first time.

Asif lend his voice for the title song of ‘Close Up One’ singer’s third solo album ‘Atta Songi’. Lopa Hossain had a desire to work with Asif and it came true through the album. The duo has already recorded their maiden duet for the album’s title song.

Lopa is set to release the album on August 5, her first anniversary of marriage with Sirajum Munir. Atta Songi will be released under the banner of Laser Vision.

There are six songs in the latest album and Sirajum Munir has written and tuned all of those under the direction of JK Mojlish.

Talking about the experience of working with Lopa Hossain, Asif said, “This is the first time I have worked with Lopa and Munir. I have sung many duets, but Atta Songi’s melody was something really new.”

“Lopa is a good singer and she performed well. I hope audience will accept the song with interest,” Asif said.

Meanwhile Lopa said “It was a dream to sing with Asif bhai and finally it has come true. I am thankful to Asif Akbar.”

It may be mention that Lopa Hossain released her first solo ‘Aari’ in 2007 and second solo ‘Ashar Bhela’ in 2013.

Asif Akbar is a Bangladeshi pop singer. He releases solo, duet and mixed albums and also sings for Bangladeshi cinema. His latest album Jan Re is available online after he decided to release all of his songs in all possible methods to prevent piracy.

Akbar’s debut album was released on 30 January 2001. He consistently releases solo albums and also duets with singers such as Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu, Bappa Majumdar, Dolly Shaontoni, Suzana Ansar, Sonia, Kaniz Suborna, Dinat Jahan Munni, Monir Khan, as well as many others others.

He temporarily retired from commercial singing on 17 March 2010 to concentrate on his political career, but returned to the Bangladeshi music scene with his solo album titled X-Prem released in August 2013.

He received the Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best Singer (Male) for five consecutive years from 2001 through 2005, the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for 2006, and for 2013, a record sixth Meril Prothom Alo Award for the performance of his song “Ex Prem”.
